Our Plays!

We have been doing plays during our reading time. We read them with Whaea Chloe, choose our characters, get our props and then practice performing them. Our whole class comes out and watches us perform. It has been fun and we like getting into character and changing our voice and actions to suit our character. We did one about a sad clown who makes sad jokes and a pirate one about treasure.

  1. Kia Ora Room 1, this is Room 2 from Elgin School - we are your blogging buddies. Miss Poi has shown us your classroom blog about your plays, and we think you are super smart. We had a school production earlier this year and had to learn the plays "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "The Three Little Pigs".
We look forward to following your blogs, seeing what you are learning about and making new friends.
Have a great week! From Room 2

  2. Kia ora Room 1,
I am a facilitator with the Manaiakalani Programme and I work in Rm2 at Elgin every week. We have been using Google Drawings lots so you will see their visual mihi on their class blog. What 4 things are really important in your life.
Rm2 at Elgin don't have their own blogs yet but I'm sure you will enjoy looking at their class blog.
I like the idea of you performing your plays for the rest of your school. Did you do any extra practise before doing this?

    1. Morena Cheryl,
We think that is cool that you get to work with Room 2 every week. We have Tania working in our class every week and we love it when she comes in. We saw their visual mihi and we want to share ours too. We had a discussion about important things in our lives and this is what came up the most - Family, Friends, sports and our x-box/playstation (Whaea Chloe laughed at that one). We only get a couple of practices for our plays then we perform them.
Do you think you will teach Room 2 how to make animations or stop motion videos?
Have a wonderful weekend from Room 1.

  3. Kia ora Room 1 boys,
Arohamai, I am missing my visit with you today as I am at home sick. It is so good to be able to check out your blog to see what you have been doing. I would love to see one of your plays when I come to visit next, maybe I can video it for your blog... It's great to hear you are getting into character and changing your voices. What has been your favourite play that you have read lately?
    Ngā mihi
    Tania
